Turtopia

Turtopia is a project that explores board game visuals, and using board games as a story telling device. Turtopia’s purpose is to raise awareness about human effects on wildlife and our environment through a fun and engaging experience.

Thesis Statement:

Using sea turtles as an example, this thesis will explore the creation of a visual-focused, dimensional game experience that raises awareness of human effects on wildlife.

Research Questions:

Question 1: 
How can I use a board game to tell a story?

Question 2:
How can I use sea turtles as a gateway to the larger issue of habitat destruction?

Question 3:
How do I balance the visuals with the information?

Outcome:

A storybook-esque board game that merges interaction with a visual story, teaches about our environment and encourages people to learn about what they can do to help.
